Music Degrees

The Department of Music offers three different degrees. Click the degrees to the left to see information and specific course requirements for each degree. The Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree offers students a very focused degree program in performance on a single instrument/voice or in music composition. The Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.) degree prepares students to be licensed K-12 school teachers. There are two tracks: Vocal/General Music and Instrumental/General Music. The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in General Music offers students a broad liberal arts degree with an emphasis in music.

Music minor
A music minor is available to those who want a concentration of coursework in music but have other educational goals. It is especially useful for those considering a major in elementary education, ministry, or other related fields. For information regarding what classes are required for music minors, view course requirements.
