Why Northwestern?
When looking for a school I did not just want a good education (which is important), but I also desired one that would increase my love for the Lord and would equip me to be His witness where I ended up working. He then made it very clear this is where I was to be and boy is He a good God!! I love that He knows what He is doing!

Involvements
I am currently co-leading the new outreach ministry called Writing in the Sand which partners with an organization that provides aftercare for women and girls coming out of prostitution and sex trafficking. I am also apart of the Gender Matters group on campus. In past years I have been blessed to be an RA, go on a spring break mission trip to Guatemala, work on campus for Bon Appetit, and play intramural volleyball, softball, and broomball.

Favorite class
Oh boy, how do you pick?! I’m going to say two of them since I can’t decide. One would be Bible Study Methods with Dr. Peter Dybvad, because it really helped me learn how to better study the word of God, practice it in my own life, and teach it to others (our class still gets together every once in awhile for dinner at Dybvad’s house)! The other class would be Jonathan Edwards Seminar with Dr. Walter Schultz! The dissertation studied for the class increased my desire to find my satisfaction in the Lord and glorify Him in all I do, plus Dr. Schultz is an amazing man of God who loves the Lord so much!

Best NWC-sponsored missions/service/travel experience
Spring Break mission trip to Guatemala! We worked with a missionary couple that takes in street kids and children who are HIV positive. We had a great team and were blessed to see the Lord working in many different ways. More happened in those 10 days then I ever thought was possible!

Best place on campus
The courtyard in the spring! All of those beautiful flowers are so refreshing after a long winter!

“I’ll never forget…”
All the wonderful talent displayed during the variety shows! There is everything from the serious to the funny and it’s great to see the people you know do unexpected things! What a great campus!!

“To me, NWC means…”
Holistic life education! You do not just learn about your academic discipline, but you learn about all areas of life! Whether you are in the classroom, in your dorm room, in chapel…you are being prepared and the desire of this college is that God would be honored. What a great goal!!! It may not be perfect (no place on earth is), but with God’s honor and glory at the front it is for sure headed in the right direction!

After graduation…
I pray that the Lord willing I will go on to get a masters in Biblical Counseling, so that I may serve Him in ministering to women and girls coming out of prostitution/sex trafficking.
